'Greetings Blackbird.' He said in a tired but welcoming voice as he flexed his astral body. A worrying thought crossed his mind; what sort of state was he in on the physical plane? Did he manage to divert Gagglepuss enough to save the refugees?

Many questions lay unanswered for him, and he didn't think he could take much more of this metaquest. Was this the end of it? Would the Citadel give him the answer he needed? Or would he need to travel on?

'What news do you bring?' He asked the bird, as he slowly started to decend to the 'floor'.

The Blackbird spoke in a song that reminded Curren of a string orchestra, lots of twanging instruments, it told of distant journeys from beyond the threshold of this sandy place, places so far as to no longer be earth.

As it did Curren began to understand the symbol and the significance it held and its link to something containing pertinent knowledge.

'Where was Francis Drake?' Curren's train of thought was distracted briefly by a growing worry for his gnome friend, as he stared around this strange astral scape. The fella seemed to have a real bad habit of disappearing without trace he thought with amusement.

Curren watched as the wire bird took to the sky, looking down he saw the spectral form of a large heavy book within his hands.
The tome looked old, heavy binding around its spine, with a sigil of some description upon its phantom cover.

Although weary his interest was priqued, the tome promised significant lost knowledge.
Curren looked for one final time at the dunes of the citedal before allowing the astral winds to take him back the realms physical.

He get's the feeling that he can understand these symbols, but that his mind isn't able to process their meaning... it's fighting back.
Maybe this is the language of the Gagglepus? Maybe this is it's home?

Frank heads down the ramp towards the rectangular pool, eager to investigate this molten metal.

As he gets close he will try a simple levitate spell to see if he can move the liquid, if it is a metallic liquid.
