'Ok, there are many ways to skin a cat' The cockney thought as he sat on the porch of the little house he has been given to stay in. The crisp white snow on the hill brought back the ghosts of memories that he could never put his finger on; almost like waking from a pleasant dream.

This strange loss made him feel melancholy; but the order of the day was to plan and not to reminisce.

The shouts and laughs of the children at play in the cold white blanket tinkled over his thoughts, and their joy of fun and wonder infected his mood. And with a smile he began to come up with the beginings of a plan.

From his and Barof's investigations of the 'plants' Curren would have began to anlayse a way of creating some form of magical 'weed killer' that would kill them and then maybe affect the root of the plant. A bit like a magical 'Weedol'!

Basically if we were to spray this positive mana based energy over the affected region it would maybe also weaken and force the real denizen of Crab Orchard to come to the surface and give Curren a very good shot at killing it.

Essentially, he would be attempting to force the negative background count into a positive one.

It was blueberry pie this afternoon, Granny sat a twinkle in her eye challenged Malthalamus Curren to smash the orb again.

"Your understanding of the Etheria is coming along well, you are indeed correct the core of the lake is corrupt, by forcing it to surface you can cleanse it"

"Custard?"

'Yes please' the englishman replied.

'But the root of this thing runs deep, and I'll need to destroy it completely if it is to never regrow again.' he said almost to himself as he slurped noisily on a cup of tea.

'I'll need to flush the entity out in its entirety first otherwise it would be pointless.' he muttered as he tucked into the pudding.

'Mmmm!' Curren exclaimed with appreciation and he bit into the juicy blueberries that had not lost their form in the baking of the pie.

'Delicious!'

They All Float Down Here In The End

Post by arcanus » Fri Jan 22, 2010 2:12 pm

Barof stood solemnly beside Curren as they both looked upon the cave entrance.
"The core of the rot lies at the end of the underground river below" remarked the troll "In order to leech it out, you first need to lance the boil"

Snow lazily blew around them, causing Curren to wrap his scarf tighter, he knew that he would need to venture below.

Curren glanced at Barof.

'Any final good advice?' he smiled at the Troll as he gauged his courage to the task ahead.

Barof looked around the mossy rocks that rose above the cave entrance.
"This battle will be won by a child of air, a child of fire and a child of earth, look out for them below, you search for the heart of the poison"

'Cryptic as always' thought Curren, but such was the way of the spirit worlds.

Before Curren arrived at the point of decending into the cavern, did he have time to come up with some form of spell or formulae to create this effect?

'The heart of the poison' Curren mused to himself; as with a slightly nervous mock salute to Barof and an absent minded brush off of his battered suit he walked into the cavern.

'Thanks for everything Guv.' he said with feeling to the Troll as the darkness enveloped him.

"Gods Speed" says Barif solemnly, watching as Curren began to negotiate his way into the narrow divide.
A sense of oppressiveness closed in around Malthalamus, it wasn't a wide cavernous tunnel but a winding squeeze of damp boulders and rock faces, many slick with a carpet of moss or lichen.

At points he had to squeeze himself sideways through these spaces as he descended deeper and deeper, and as he did the light grew less and less and the aura of the place older and older, earthier and earthier.
