Currens hand rested upon the stone like form of 'Nebs', he focused calling the mana to the form.

For a long while nothing happened, nothing stirred.
Fitch gnashed his teeth, figgeted and then stalked off to the edge of the clearing, swiping chunks out a serpentmans corpse before retreating to the outskirts.

The clearing became deathly silent as the Crusaders watched time slip by, Curren pushing the energy of the planes into the still cold form of Nebblesworth.

A strong breeze picked up across the blasted clearing, Drake's dreadlocks lifted by it, dust washed across the Crusaders.
A shock of energy jolted from Malthalamus Curren's hand, the dust spreading into a circular arcane pattern, a darker soot lying upon the sandy ground.

Nebblesworths form flickered to such an extent that he vanished only to then appear again, Curren wrestled with the threads of power, the spirits form was different from anything he'd encountered previously.

After a battle, the energies subsided, Curren opened his eyes, a solemn silence settled over the companions as the dust clear, Nebs form had gone.

'Eh?' Curren mouthed in confusion; which quickly turned to fear for their astral helper. He dug through his memories on what may have gone wrong, trying to pinpoint the breakdown of the formulae he was attempting.

He dared not let go of what remained of Nebblesworths form; lest he lose him forever.

Have I heard of this happening before when others have tried to bind a spirit? Do I need to attempt to reform it? Is Nebs still present in some form in the Ether? What is so different about him rather than other elementals/beings.

Do I feel like I am weaker for the attempt? I.e a magic point has been lost?

Is Nebs actually resisiting my attempt?

Curren wracked his brain, he had to admit that such things as Allied Spirits and the like were not his speciality, it hadn't felt like Nebs had resisted, more like he'd just slipped away.

It was then that the companions in unison looked up as a figure stepped around the remnants of the stone head, Nebs doffed his bowler hat and looked somewhat impatiently at the disbelieving faces.

He seemed more solid somehow, more substantial "Wazall gawpin az!" he growled before rather nonchalantly wandering back onto the track and off ahead of the companions.

Fitch does look very surprised, all of your senses tell you that you were sucessful in resummoning and renewing Nebs.
